Hyderabad, July 12, 2024 – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conducted a comprehensive review meeting on Friday with officials from the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets (HYDRA) at the Secretariat. The CM proposed several enhancements to HYDRA’s guidelines and directed officials to finalize them before the upcoming Budget sessions.

HYDRA’s operational area will encompass up to 2,000 sq km within the Outer Ring Road. The responsibilities of collecting fines and removing flexis and unofficial hoardings will be shifted from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to HYDRA. Additionally, steps will be taken to align police station limits and assembly constituency boundaries within the same zones.

To address encroachments of ponds, nalas, and government lands, a study will be conducted to strengthen the existing rules. Periodic coordination between the HMDA, Water Works, Disaster Management, and Municipal departments will be ensured. Chief Minister Reddy also suggested considering special funds for HYDRA if necessary.
