Vijayawada, – The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has called for a statewide bandh on Monday to voice its vehement opposition to the arrest of its party leader and former Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, in connection with a skill development scam case.

In a press statement, K. Atchannaidu, the TDP AP President, has called upon party members, the public, and civil society to actively participate in the agitation and ensure its success.

“The Telugu Desam Party has declared a statewide bandh for Monday, September 11, in protest against the unjust arrest of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the mistreatment of our party cadre, and the vindictive political maneuvers,” stated a press release from the party.

The arrest came after an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada ordered Chandrababu Naidu to be placed in judicial custody for 14 days, following allegations of involvement in a multi-crore corruption scandal. According to AP CID Chief N. Sanjay, the case pertains to fraudulent activities and the misappropriation of funds from the Skill Development Corporation, resulting in a substantial loss of Rs 300 crore to the state government.
