Three-Day Awareness Program Highlights Road Safety, Women’s Protection, and Drug Abuse Prevention

Hyderabad, November 14, 2024: Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy recently organized a three-day NSS awareness program focused on promoting social responsibility and safety among students. Conducted from November 12 to November 14, 2024, the sessions addressed crucial topics including road safety, women’s protection, and the prevention of drug abuse.

The awareness program was overseen by Telangana State NSS Training In-charge Ms. Annapurna Gadepalli, with support from the college’s Principal, Dr. Anupama Koneru, NSS Program Officer Dr. Syed Jaffer, and NSS Coordinators Ms. Zainab Hussain and Ms. Ausaf Butool. Held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM each day, the sessions provided students with valuable guidance on real-life challenges to foster a sense of responsibility.

The first session emphasized the importance of traffic safety, with Mr. K. Venugopal from the Traffic Training Institute, Goshamahal, explaining the necessity of following traffic rules and understanding the repercussions of violations. The following day, Miss Mari and her team from the Bharosa Center presented on women’s safety, introducing students to SHE Teams and Bharosa, both initiatives aimed at protecting and empowering women. They highlighted preventive measures, self-defense strategies, and emergency resources available to women.

The final session focused on drug abuse awareness, exploring the physical and mental health risks of substance abuse. Students were encouraged to maintain a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, with the discussion sparking significant interest and appreciation among participants for its openness and relevance.

In her address, Principal Dr. Anupama Koneru urged students to apply the insights gained from the program to positively impact their communities. The sessions received strong positive feedback, with students finding the program informative, engaging, and directly relevant to their daily lives.

This initiative reflects Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy’s ongoing commitment to holistic student development, preparing students to be socially aware, responsible citizens who can make meaningful contributions to society.
