Hyderabad, November 18, 2024: The Telangana government has officially approved the Warangal Master Plan-2041, paving the way for comprehensive urban development across the Kakatiya (Warangal) Development Area.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department issued a formal order on Sunday, endorsing the plan, which covers 1,805 sq. km, including 181 revenue villages. This master plan is set to shape the urban growth of Warangal and its surrounding regions for the next two decades.
Prepared by the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA), the plan incorporates land-use zoning regulations and general development guidelines. Its formulation involved extensive public consultations, technical reviews, and discussions with district officials. The draft plan was first notified in 2018, allowing a 90-day period for public objections and suggestions.
KUDA’s vice-chairman has been instructed to make the final plan accessible for public inspection at the KUDA office and other prominent locations.
While the draft plan was initially approved by the Municipal Administration Department in March 2021, its final approval was delayed due to administrative hurdles. These delays affected permissions for large-scale projects in the region.
With the state government’s nod, the new master plan is expected to eliminate such obstacles and accelerate developmental initiatives, ensuring structured growth and economic opportunities in Warangal.
