In a deeply distressing incident caught on camera and widely shared on social media, a minor rape victim, just 12 years old, was seen desperately going door to door for assistance, only to be callously ignored by onlookers.
The horrifying episode unfolded in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where a CCTV camera recorded the young girl, bleeding and partially clothed, wandering the streets in search of aid for a harrowing two and a half hours.
The Madhya Pradesh Police have since launched a thorough investigation into the incident after discovering the young girl, raped and in an unconscious state, lying in a pool of her own blood.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ujjain, Sachin Sharma, revealed, “A case has been registered under the jurisdiction of the Mahakal police station against unknown perpetrators, following a confirmed rape incident in a medical examination.”
The minor victim was found unconscious in the Murlipura area, within the Mahakal police station’s jurisdiction. Concerned locals immediately alerted the authorities, who promptly arrived at the scene and rushed the traumatized girl to the hospital. A subsequent medical examination confirmed the brutal sexual assault.
Due to the critical condition of the victim, she was urgently referred to Indore for advanced medical care. Superintendent Sachin Sharma noted, “A police officer even donated blood, as the young girl had lost a significant amount.”
In response to this appalling crime, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to conduct a thorough inquiry, according to police officials.
SP Sachin Sharma also issued a heartfelt appeal to the public, urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Although the victim did not provide specific details about her origin, her language and dialect suggest she may be from Prayagraj, he said.
