
Hyderabad :- Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology (MJCET), in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS-MJCET), recently hosted a seminar on “Principles and Practices of Waste Management.” The event, held on Monday featured Shri Ravi Kant, (IAS Retd), a seasoned professional with 36 years of leadership experience.
Shri Ravi Kant, currently serving as the Director in India’s reputed infrastructure consultancy organization, delivered insightful perspectives on waste management. The seminar aimed to emphasize the significance of adopting effective waste management principles and practices.
Participants had the opportunity to delve into various factors contributing to waste management challenges. Shri Ravi Kant underscored methods to reduce, reuse, and responsibly dispose of household waste. The audience, comprising Dr. Mahipal Singh Rawat (Principal, MJCET), Ms. NBV Lakshmi Kumari (NSS –Program officer), Dr. Mohammed Viquar Mohiuddin (Professor & Head, Mechanical Engineering Department), faculty members, and over 150 engineering students from diverse branches, actively engaged in the program.
The key outcome of the event was the heightened awareness surrounding waste management issues. Discussions centered on modalities to address these challenges, with a specific focus on reducing, reusing, and harnessing power from waste. The seminar successfully fostered a collective understanding of sustainable waste management practices among the participants.
