Hyderabad, January 21, 2025: Frequent power cuts across Telangana have raised concerns among residents, who recall that under the BRS Sarkar, electricity supply remained uninterrupted. However, under the Revanth Sarkar, power outages have become a daily occurrence, sometimes happening multiple times a day in city.

Citizens are expressing their frustration over the deteriorating power situation, calling it the “7th undeclared guarantee” of the Revanth Sarkar. Many social media users have pointed out the contrast between the previous administration’s stable power supply and the frequent disruptions they now face.

Despite the growing concerns, officials have yet to issue a formal statement on the reasons behind these power outages or any planned measures to address them. As summer approaches, residents fear that the situation may worsen, adding to their discomfort and inconvenience.

As the summer season approaches, concerns are growing among the public about the frequent power outages under the Revanth Reddy-led government. Many are wondering whether the government plans to continue these disruptions or if there are preparations to extend power cuts during the summer, similar to the practice in the era of united Andhra Pradesh, where electricity was cut for two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening.

Meanwhile, in the districts, residents are even more troubled by the power cuts. Unlike in Hyderabad, where some relief is provided, the districts are facing severe and frequent outages. Additionally, there have been reports of highway lights being switched off at night. Under the BRS government, street lights on highways remained operational, even late into the night. However, under the current Revanth Sarkar, the lights on highways are being turned off by 11 PM, which is causing major inconvenience to commuters. Many are worried about the increase in road accidents due to poor visibility at night. This has sparked complaints from people traveling between cities, as the lack of proper lighting on highways increases the risks for both pedestrians and vehicles. The public is urging the government to take immediate action to ensure both a stable power supply and adequate street lighting for the safety of all.
After the formation of Telangana, the BRS government, under the leadership of KCR, provided great relief to the people by ensuring 24-hour power supply. However, now, widespread frustration can be seen among citizens due to frequent power cuts. People are expressing their dissatisfaction, stating that the Revanth Reddy government is presenting a very poor performance within its first year. Some believe that while Revanth Reddy played a crucial role in reviving Congress in Telangana, he may also be responsible for its downfall in the state.
