In a significant revelation, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav shared survey insights on Sunday, stating that a staggering 90% of backward communities, Dalits, and minorities are expected to vote collectively for the PDA (Picchde, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak) in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Yadav contends that this unified support disrupts BJP’s traditional equations and renders previous strategies ineffective.
Yadav, who introduced the term PDA to represent the alliance of “backward, Dalit, and minorities,” emphasized the failure of BJP’s candidate selection process, attributing it to a lack of enthusiasm among potential candidates who are reluctant to contest with the BJP ticket.
Highlighting the survey results, Yadav stated, “49% backward people, 16% Dalits, 21% minorities, and 4% upper castes have faith in PDA. The collective vote from this 90% will strongly favor PDA this time, disrupting BJP’s political calculations.”
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister further claimed that even traditional BJP supporters, including women, are disenchanted due to various incidents of violence and mistreatment of women. Yadav predicted a decline in BJP votes from women and youth who were hopeful of job opportunities but are now disappointed with the current government’s performance.
Yadav pointed out an anti-BJP sentiment among farmers, citing unfulfilled promises of income doubling and mismanagement of GST affecting the party’s traditional voter base. He criticized the BJP’s policies on labor laws and alleged favoritism towards billionaires, claiming that workers and farmers have turned against the party.
Concluding his assessment, Yadav proclaimed an impending defeat for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, attributing it to widespread public dissatisfaction. He encapsulated his sentiment with the slogan, “Li ha PDA ne angdai, BJP ki shamat aayi” (‘PDA’ has taken a move, the end of BJP has come).
