Medak: A video showing a leopard near the Medak-Yellareddy road by the Nagapuram gate in Havelighanpur mandal has sparked widespread concern after being shared extensively on social media.
The footage, reportedly captured by commuters in the early hours of Saturday, shows the leopard standing still as vehicle lights shone on it. Observers in the video mentioned the presence of a second leopard in the bushes, although it was not visible in the recording.
The video was sent to Havelighanpur SI Pochanna. By the time forest officials arrived at the scene, the leopard had already retreated into the forest. Despite the disappearance, the video quickly went viral on social media within the Medak district, causing panic among local residents.
In response, forest officials have issued warnings to farmers and cattle herders, advising them to avoid the area. Efforts are ongoing to track the leopard’s movements.
