In a fiery address during a roadshow in Kondapur under Chevella Parliamentary constituency, BRS working president KT Rama Rao condemned the BJP’s politics of religion, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of jeopardizing Hyderabad’s secular fabric for political gain. He emphasized the BRS-led government’s decade-long efforts to preserve communal harmony and foster economic growth in the city.
Highlighting Hyderabad’s status as one of the most harmonious cities in the country, Rama Rao denounced Modi’s attempts to disrupt its cosmopolitan culture. He underscored the inclusive governance of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, which prioritized the welfare of all citizens irrespective of religious affiliations.
Rama Rao dismissed BJP’s temple construction agenda as insufficient grounds for electoral support, instead championing Chandrashekhar Rao’s track record of effective governance. He criticized BJP’s failure to fulfill electoral promises and accused Modi of neglecting Hyderabad’s developmental needs, particularly in the IT sector.
Addressing allegations of collusion between BRS and BJP, Rama Rao pointed to the arrest of his sister and MLC K Kavitha as evidence of political vendetta. He urged voters to rally behind the car symbol in the upcoming elections to secure a victory that would enable Chandrashekhar Rao’s return to state politics.
