Hyderabad: The All-India Members Conclave of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) concluded successfully on November 17, 2024, at Hyderabad. The three-day event brought together 15,000 members from across the country to discuss pressing national, community, and international issues. Comprehensive resolutions were passed, addressing a wide range of topics, including social justice, communal harmony, education, healthcare, and global peace.
Major Highlights of the Conclave
1. Address by JIH Leadership
At a press conference held during the event, JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini, along with Vice Presidents Prof. Salim Engineer and Malik Moatasim Khan, emphasized the conclave’s aim to strengthen members’ resolve toward building a peaceful and just society. The leaders highlighted the importance of addressing challenges facing the nation, including communal tensions, social inequality, and erosion of democratic values.
2. Resolutions on National Concerns
The conclave expressed deep concern over the increasing communal polarization and the targeting of Muslims through legal and illegal means. It criticized the slow judicial processes and the use of bulldozer demolitions, calling for the rule of law to be upheld and the suppression of dissent to be curbed.
The gathering also rejected the controversial new Waqf Bill, supporting demands for its withdrawal as presented to the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
3. Global Issues and the Palestine Conflict
JIH condemned the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, accusing Israel of committing genocide and calling it one of the most severe crimes against humanity in recent history. The conclave urged the Indian government to maintain its historic stance of supporting Palestine’s legitimate rights and to halt arms sales to Israel.
The war in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, along with the prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict, were identified as threats to global peace. JIH appealed to international organizations to prioritize humanity over economic interests and take firm action against war crimes.
4. Call for Unity and Social Responsibility
JIH called upon Indian Muslims to remain united, steadfast in their faith, and proactive in countering false propaganda against Islam and Muslims. It urged them to foster stronger ties with fellow citizens and contribute positively to India’s growth and development, despite the challenging circumstances.
5. Economic and Social Challenges
The conclave highlighted the growing economic inequality in India, exacerbated by government policies favoring a few at the expense of the majority. It expressed concern over rising corruption, moral decline, and the targeting of women, emphasizing the urgent need for corrective measures.
6. Appeal for Global Peace
JIH appealed to international organizations and leaders of Muslim nations to work towards global justice and peace. It urged Muslim leaders to support oppressed communities worldwide and awaken public opinion against oppression.
Conclusion
The resolutions passed by the conclave underscored the Jamaat’s commitment to addressing critical issues facing society and fostering a peaceful and inclusive future. The event concluded with prayers for global harmony, justice, and the success of oppressed people worldwide.
The All-India Members Conclave of JIH once again reiterated its resolve to work towards a just, equitable, and united society while urging all stakeholders, including governments, institutions, and individuals, to rise above biases and fulfill their responsibilities.
