Hyderabad Police Assures Cooperation for Peaceful Milad-un-Nabi Procession on September 19, 2024

Hyderabad, September 3, 2024: The Hyderabad City Police, under the leadership of Commissioner Sri Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, IPS, has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly Milad-un-Nabi procession, scheduled for September 19, 2024. In a recent meeting held at the Telangana State Golf Club & Country Club (TGC&CC) in Banjara Hills, the Commissioner engaged with the Markazi Milad Juloos Committee to discuss the preparations and security arrangements for the event.

During the meeting, the committee members formally submitted a letter requesting permission for the Milad procession. Commissioner Reddy assured the committee of full cooperation from the police department, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and harmony during the religious event. He also highlighted the department’s readiness to support the smooth conduct of the procession, which is a significant occasion for the Muslim community.

The discussion was attended by senior police officials, including Sri Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), and Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone). The officials collectively emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to ensure the success of not only the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations but also the upcoming Ganesh festivities.

In a related development, Commissioner Reddy also convened a separate meeting with the Central Peace and Welfare Committee, representing all zones of Hyderabad City. The meeting focused on fostering cooperation between the police and community leaders to maintain the city’s peaceful atmosphere during the festive season. The Peace and Welfare Committee pledged its full support to the police in upholding peace and addressing other societal issues, including anti-social activities.

The Hyderabad City Police’s proactive measures and engagement with community leaders underline their dedication to safeguarding public order and ensuring the smooth conduct of significant cultural and religious events in the city.
