Hyderabad experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday evening, continuing a pattern seen throughout the week. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain with occasional intense spells across various parts of the city.

“Today’s rain turned the roads into lakes, and in several areas, sewage water mixed with rainwater flowed on the streets, causing significant difficulties for the public. Even an hour after the rain stopped, water continued to flow on the roads.”

In a post on X, IMD Hyderabad stated: “A cloud mass approaching from the northwest direction, moderate rainfall is likely in Qutubullapur, Gajularamaram, Alwal, Chanda Nagar, Patancheru, Serlingampalli, Moosapet, Cantonment, Yousufguda, Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, and surrounding areas.”

Weather observer T. Balaji, known for his accurate predictions, mentioned that South Hyderabad can expect heavy rains in the coming days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to range between 31°C and 23°C.

Residents are advised to call the GHMC helpline numbers 040-21111111 or 9000113667 for assistance from the Disaster Response Force during the rainfall.
