
Hyderabad, September 3, 2024: The Film Nagar Police have arrested three individuals involved in a house burglary that took place in the Film Nagar area. The accused were found in possession of stolen items, including diamond earrings, gold earrings, silver ornaments, US dollars, and other valuable articles, with a total worth of approximately Rs. 5 lakhs.
Accused Details:
- Mudraboyina Murali (22 years)
- Mudraboyina Naveen (20 years)
- Jutru Samba Siva Rao alias Swamy (24 years)
The trio was arrested and remanded on September 2, 2024. Murali and Naveen, who are brothers, along with their friend Swamy, carried out the burglary while taking advantage of the complainant’s absence from her home.
Incident Overview:
On the early morning of August 21, 2024, the Film Nagar Police received a complaint regarding the theft of diamond earrings, gold earrings, silver ornaments, and US dollars from a residence in Film Nagar. The investigation quickly revealed that the accused fled to Katur Mandal in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, with the stolen items.
Using technical evidence and credible information, the Film Nagar Police tracked the accused to Katur Mandal. Within 24 hours, the police team, led by Detective Inspector N. Jayaram, SI J. Srikanth Reddy, and HC V. Janardhan Naik, apprehended the suspects and recovered the stolen property.
Recovered Property:
- Diamond earrings (two pairs, 6.40 grams)
- Gold earrings (two pairs, 8.49 grams)
- Watches (five, including three ladies’ and two gents’ watches)
- Silver pooja items (seven pieces, 87.10 grams)
- US dollars (11 one-dollar notes, three five-dollar notes, two twenty-dollar notes)
- Mobile phones: Redmi (green) and Realme (blue)
- Tools used in the burglary: hammer, screwdriver, and cutting pliers
The complainant, who had been away in Mokila for a conference with her son, returned home to find the theft. The suspects, including Murali, who worked as the complainant’s driver, exploited the family’s absence to commit the crime. They were planning to sell the stolen items when they were caught.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Sri SM Vijay Kumar, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone. The swift action and effective interrogation by the Film Nagar Police team have been highly praised by senior officials.
The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent similar incidents in the future.
