“Watch: Bold Statements from BRS MLC K Kavitha During Court Appearance”

A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of Bharat Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha until April 9 in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The decision follows the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informing Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court that further custodial interrogation of Kavitha is unnecessary. Her counsel had also sought interim bail, citing her son’s exams, as reported by the news agency PTI.

Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, is embroiled in controversy as the ED accuses her of involvement in the ‘South Group’. Allegedly, this group paid kickbacks of ₹100 crore to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in exchange for a significant share of liquor licenses in the national capital. Kavitha was arrested on March 15 following a search operation at her residence.

She further stated, “One has paid BJP Rs 50 Crore. This is not a money laundering case but a political laundering case. I will fight it in court and come out.”
