19th Communal Incident in Eight Months: Muslims Suffer Repeated Attacks Under Congress Rule in Telangana :MBT Khan

Komaram Bheem Asifabad, September 4: Communal tensions flared up in Jainoor Town, Komaram Bheem Asifabad District, Telangana, following a night of unrest. The situation escalated dramatically today as anti-social elements, emboldened by the lack of immediate police intervention, gathered in large numbers and took out an unauthorized rally. The mob targeted Muslim-owned shops and religious sites, causing significant damage. The most alarming incident occurred when the mob forcibly entered the Jame Masjid in Jainoor, where they desecrated copies of the Quran and vandalized the mosque’s doors and windows.

Amjed Ullah Khan, the spokesperson for Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), has expressed deep concern over the recurring communal incidents in Jainoor and other parts of Telangana since the Congress party came to power. “When Rome was burning, Nero was playing the flute,” Khan remarked, drawing a parallel to the inaction of Telangana’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy amidst the ongoing violence. He criticized the Director General of Police, Telangana, and the Superintendent of Police, Komaram Bheem Asifabad District, for failing to take preventive measures that could have averted the situation.

This incident marks the second time in recent months that Muslims in Jainoor have been targeted, allegedly in retaliation for their support of the Congress party during Assembly and Parliament elections. Khan highlighted that this is the 19th communal incident in the state within eight months, with Muslims repeatedly bearing the brunt of the violence. He also pointed out the apparent bias in law enforcement, citing the one-sided arrests of Muslim youths in similar incidents across Telangana. He mentioned the Jangicherla incident, where Muslim youths were jailed throughout the holy month of Ramzan, and the recent Wanaparthy incident, where Bajrang Dal activists have yet to be arrested.

Khan also criticized Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for their selective outrage, noting that they only speak out when communal violence occurs in BJP-ruled states and primarily when Dalits are attacked.

On behalf of MBT, Khan has demanded the immediate arrest of all those involved in the Jainoor incident, a judicial inquiry into the communal violence, and compensation for the victims whose shops were damaged or destroyed. The situation in Jainoor remains tense, with calls for justice growing louder.
