Hyderabad : In a significant development, a delegation of Christian Community Leaders convened today to present their demands to the Congress Party in Telangana. Under the guidance of the All India Congress Committee, the delegation held discussions with Mr. Zafar Javeed, Senior Vice-President of the TPCC (Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee) and Convenor of the Minority Declaration Draft Committee.

During the meeting, the Christian Community Leaders emphasized their expectations regarding the upcoming Minority Declaration Draft. One of their primary demands was for a substantial allocation of funds to be earmarked for the Christian community in the Budget designated for Welfare Schemes within the Minority Budget.

Additionally, the leaders urged the government to enact a law that enables suo-moto action against anti-social elements responsible for creating communal disharmony, delivering hate speeches, and engaging in activities such as lynching and rioting, in line with the suggestions put forth by the Supreme Court of India.

Furthermore, the delegation expressed the need for the government to establish two residential schools specifically catering to the Christian community in the ten erstwhile districts of Telangana. This move is seen as crucial for the educational and overall development of the Christian youth in the region.

The presentation of these demands by the Christian Community Leaders reflects their aspirations for enhanced welfare and security, highlighting the critical issues faced by their community in Telangana.
