Hyderabad : Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, also the president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has launched a scathing attack on the Congress and BJP, accusing them of forming an unholy alliance to curb the BRS’s ascendency in Telangana. KCR, on Saturday, asserted that leaders of both national parties were gripped with anxiety over the possibility of his resounding victory for a third consecutive term, predicting that it would embolden him to expand into Maharashtra immediately.
Describing the alleged collusion between the Congress and BJP as a “lafanga dhandha” (shady deal), KCR urged voters to remain vigilant against these forces and stay on high alert. He accused the two parties of strategically fielding weaker candidates based on their mutual understanding to thwart the BRS’s progress.
Despite these attempts, KCR affirmed the BRS’s unstoppable foray into other states, citing overwhelming support from over 150 gram panchayats in Maharashtra, where people were actively seeking integration with Telangana. He dismissed the alleged collaboration’s impact, emphasizing the positive response received during BRS rallies and organizational activities in Maharashtra.
In a direct reference to TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, KCR launched a verbal onslaught, branding him “Rifle Reddy” for his notorious rifle-wielding incident. Accusing Revanth Reddy of carrying out a negative campaign against the BRS and engaging in sycophancy towards TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, KCR challenged him to focus on his party’s policies instead.
Responding to criticism about Telangana’s past hardships, KCR highlighted the state’s remarkable transformation under BRS rule, surpassing three crore tonnes in paddy output. He credited experts like Dr GR Reddy and retired IAS officers for formulating welfare schemes and pensions unique to Telangana, emphasizing the state’s unparalleled achievements in providing continuous power to the farm sector and implementing welfare programs.
KCR concluded by asserting that political parties making grand claims often fall short in delivery, emphasizing the people’s awareness and commitment to not compromising their welfare for mere promises.
