Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has been grabbing headlines recently, but not for the usual reasons. During a public event in Patna, he made a noteworthy slip of the tongue, humorously referring to himself as “Faltu Mukhya Mantri”
The amusing incident occurred when Nitish Kumar, while addressing a gathering at an event of the Panchayati Raj Department, inadvertently referred to the Bihar Chief Secretary, Amir Subhani, as “chief Mukhya Mantri” (chief Chief Minister). When corrected by officials present, Kumar attempted to rectify the error but ended up playfully calling himself “Faltu Mukhya Mantri.”
Speaking about the construction of Panchayati Sarkar buildings in the state, Kumar stated, “When the World Bank learned about the Panchayat Sarkar building, they were highly pleased and offered to provide financial help in making 330 buildings.” However, his self-deprecating comment added a humorous twist to the event.
This recent slip of the tongue by the Chief Minister has become a point of discussion and amusement in Bihar’s political circles. It is not the first time Nitish Kumar has made such speech-related errors.
During a Janata Darbar, he mistakenly asked officials to call the Home Minister, despite holding the Home portfolio himself. On another occasion, he claimed to have granted reservations to sportspersons during his tenure as Union Home Minister, a position he never held in his career. Kumar previously served as the Union Railway and Agriculture Minister.
