“Owaisi Questions Government’s Role: ‘Failure to Arrest in Junaid and Nasir’s Case Led to Sabir’s Murder’”

Hyderabad, September 4: AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly condemned the recent outbreak of communal violence in Jainoor mandal of Asifabad district, Telangana. The violence, which erupted on Wednesday, saw a mob of nearly 2,000 people attacking Muslim properties, escalating tensions in the area.

The unrest reportedly began following the alleged sexual assault of a tribal woman by an auto driver. This incident quickly ignited communal tensions, leading to a large-scale attack on Muslim-owned properties. Local police were dispatched to the scene but struggled to contain the situation due to the sheer number of people involved in the violence.

In response to the disturbing events, Asaduddin Owaisi spoke directly with Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. Jitendra, urging swift action to restore order and protect the affected communities. Owaisi shared his concerns on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I have spoken to @TelanganaDGP regarding incidents of communal disturbances in Jainoor, Asifabad District. The @TelanganaDGP assured me that it is being monitored, additional forces are being sent, and action will be taken against people who take law into their hands.”

Owaisi, who has consistently been a vocal advocate against violence targeting minorities, expressed deep concern over the recurring incidents of communal unrest. He pointed out the growing pattern of violence and discrimination against minority communities in various parts of the country. Recently, he condemned an attack on an elderly Muslim man in Maharashtra, highlighting the broader issue of minority persecution.

In a separate statement on X, Owaisi criticized the government’s failure to protect vulnerable communities, particularly in states governed by the BJP. He referenced the killing of Sabir, a victim of cow vigilantes in Haryana, to underscore his point. “These people can only target the weak. The Sanghis come in a pack and are emboldened since the BJP covertly supports them,” Owaisi remarked. He further questioned the effectiveness of the government, suggesting that if the Haryana authorities had acted promptly in previous cases like the murders of Junaid and Nasir, such tragedies might have been prevented.

Owaisi’s condemnation of the violence in Asifabad is part of his ongoing efforts to draw attention to the rising communal tensions in India and the need for stronger governmental action to protect minority communities. The situation in Jainoor remains tense as the state government and law enforcement agencies work to bring the perpetrators to justice.
