Hyderabad , October 2, 2024 :- Opposition to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is growing, with protests spreading across various sectors. While the state is already witnessing unrest against the HYDRAA demolition actions, a new wave of dissent has emerged from government employees. Today, a large group of state government employees staged a significant protest at the Congress Party Head Office in Hyderabad, voicing their anger over Government Order (GO) 317.

Many employees claim they have been displaced due to GO 317, as they are now forced to work in districts far from their families, causing immense hardship. The protestors, gathered in large numbers, held banners and shouted slogans demanding immediate action from the state government to resolve this issue.

The employees were particularly vocal about unfulfilled promises made by CM Revanth Reddy before the elections. According to the protestors, the Chief Minister had assured them that, if Congress came to power, the issue would be resolved within 48 days of assuming office. However, despite 10 months having passed since the Congress government took charge, the problem remains unresolved, creating growing unrest among state employees.

The protest at Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress Party’s state headquarters, saw employees from various districts come together to make their voices heard. The large gathering led to heavy traffic jams in the surrounding areas, and police were deployed in large numbers to maintain order. Employees criticized the government for neglecting their plight and failing to deliver on its commitments.

The Government Order 317 has been contentious since its inception. It reshuffled government employees to different districts, many of whom were reassigned far from their home districts. The affected employees argue that this move has disrupted their lives, separating them from their families and creating logistical challenges in commuting and accommodation. This displacement has become a significant concern, especially for those who had been serving in their home districts for years before being uprooted.

This discontent comes at a critical time for CM Revanth Reddy. Protests against the HYDRAA demolitions have already put his administration under pressure. The HYDRAA (Hyderabad Regional Area Administration Authority) actions, which include the demolition of illegal constructions, have been met with resistance from residents and activists. Accusations of displacement and lack of rehabilitation plans have only added to the mounting challenges for the Chief Minister.

Protestors emphasized today that they will not back down until a concrete resolution is offered. They reminded the Chief Minister of his election promises and urged him to take immediate action. Many expressed frustration over what they perceive as government indifference toward their concerns, highlighting that, despite numerous appeals, no significant progress has been made.

The demonstration at Gandhi Bhavan is seen as a significant escalation of protests that have been brewing over the past several months. The turnout from various districts reflects the widespread discontent, with many employees traveling long distances to participate in the demonstration. Protestors warned that if the government continues to delay, they will intensify their agitation and stage larger protests in the coming weeks.

As the protest unfolded, police maintained a strong presence to ensure peace. However, the sheer scale of the protest led to traffic jams in key areas around the Congress headquarters. Commuters faced delays as roads were blocked to manage the crowd, and tensions remained high throughout the day.

The ball is now in CM Revanth Reddy’s court, as employees eagerly await a response to their demands. The state government is already grappling with several challenges, and the growing unrest among its workforce only adds to the pressure. How the Chief Minister responds to this crisis will likely play a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape as the next elections approach.

For now, government employees across Telangana remain united in their demand: a resolution to the GO 317 issue and the restoration of their postings to their home districts. Whether the Chief Minister can address this issue in a timely and effective manner remains to be seen, but the protests indicate that employees are prepared for a prolonged struggle if necessary.

With tensions rising on multiple fronts, the coming days will be crucial for the Telangana government as it navigates these growing challenges.
