In a public meeting held at Katangi town in the Naxal-affected Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge conveyed his unwavering confidence in the face of recent raids by central agencies in Chhattisgarh. He declared that these actions would not demoralize their party workers and predicted victory for the Congress in the assembly elections, both in Chhattisgarh and in BJP-governed Madhya Pradesh.

Kharge stated, “Through ED, CBI, and I-T raids, they want to terrorize our party workers so that they sit in their homes. They are thinking that Congress workers will sit at home and get demoralized due to these raids, but it won’t happen. The Congress is certainly going to win in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.”

The Congress has accused the BJP-led Centre of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Income Tax (I-T) to target their government in Chhattisgarh through a series of raids.

Kharge highlighted that Prime Minister Modi had previously criticized the “NREGA scheme,” a rural job guarantee initiative, but it proved instrumental in providing employment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, Kharge credited their party with initiating the ‘Green Revolution,’ which significantly enhanced farm productivity and made the country self-reliant in food grain production. He also claimed that the current government’s ability to provide free ration to lakhs of people was a result of the vision of previous Congress governments.

Kharge attributed the proliferation of mobile phones and computers used by millions of people in the country to the vision of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

He also paid tribute to the contributions of former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Lal Bahadur Shastri in the development of the country. He criticized Modi for questioning the Congress on these issues.
