PM Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters, but Congress labels them “biggest jumla

New Delhi August 28,2023 : The Congress party has openly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what they perceive as a lack of genuine employment opportunities. The party has accused the Prime Minister of orchestrating “Rozgar Melas” – job fairs – as a reaction to the impending election year and an attempt to salvage his public image.

During a recent Rozgar Mela event, Prime Minister Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters, predominantly for roles in the security forces, to young individuals. However, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh has labeled these events as nothing more than “biggest jumlas” – a term denoting political rhetoric.

Ramesh has pointed out that the Prime Minister has fallen short of delivering on his promise to generate two crore jobs annually, alleging that the claimed job numbers include positions that have remained vacant for years due to administrative or financial constraints. According to him, even promotions are being presented as new appointments.

Accusing Modi of attempting to enhance his political image, Ramesh stated, “The Mela personalizes employment in the government sector as if the PM is singularly responsible for mostly routine job offers.” He emphasized that actual job creation is a result of economic growth driven by investments, and criticized the Rozgar Melas as a mere gimmick that reflects a lack of accountability and responsibility for the current unemployment crisis.

The Congress party’s stance on the Rozgar Melas underscores the ongoing political debate surrounding job creation, economic policies, and electoral strategies.
