New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has quashed rumors of his resignation from the party, stating that he will remain with the Congress until his last breath, despite the continuous targeting by the BJP-RSS.

In response to a recent fake letter that went viral, allegedly announcing his resignation, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister addressed the media on Monday, expressing his unwavering commitment to the Congress. He emphasized the relentless efforts by the BJP and RSS to target Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, through the dissemination of fake videos, fabricated letters, and manipulated statements.

Digvijaya Singh clarified, “I joined the Congress party in 1971, and I shall remain in Congress until my last breath.”

His firm stance comes in the wake of a false resignation letter circulating on social media, attributed to Singh. However, he took to ‘X’ on Sunday to denounce the letter and accuse the BJP of peddling falsehoods. “I took membership of Congress in 1971. I joined the Congress not for the post but because I was influenced by the ideology, and I will remain in Congress until the last breath of my life. I am filing a police complaint against this lie,” he asserted.

This development unfolds just ahead of the scheduled voting for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly on November 17, with the counting of votes set for December 3. The Congress has already announced its first list of 144 candidates for the state, which includes Singh’s son, Jaivardhan Singh, running from the Raghogarh Assembly constituency.
