New Delhi, April 10, 2024 – Parakala Prabhakar, husband of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has issued a stark warning, suggesting that India’s map and constitution could undergo significant alterations if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secures victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In a video shared by the Congress on the microblogging site X, Prabhakar, a prominent economist, expressed concerns over the potential consequences of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s re-election. He suggested that a scenario similar to the Ladakh-Manipur situation could emerge nationwide if the BJP returns to power.

Prabhakar went on to say that should PM Modi secure another term, India might not witness another election process, indicating a potential shift towards a more authoritarian regime. He also warned of escalating hate speeches, citing examples like ‘isko Pakistan jaane ka hai, jane do’ (If they want to go to Pakistan, let them), suggesting that such rhetoric could emanate from the Red Fort under Modi’s leadership.

The economist highlighted the ethnic clashes in Manipur between the Kuki and Meitei communities, indicating that such unrest could become commonplace across India under a renewed BJP government.

Earlier, in March, Prabhakar had labeled the electoral bond scam as not only the biggest scam in India but also the world. He claimed that the fight was no longer between two alliances but between the BJP and the people of India.

It’s worth noting that Finance Minister Sitharaman recently declined BJP President JP Nadda’s offer to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu, citing a lack of funds.
