In a heartbreaking incident, five members of an Indian-origin family, including three children, lost their lives in a house fire in west London. The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident that occurred on Sunday night.

The victims, yet to be officially named by the police, were reportedly celebrating Diwali before the tragic fire. A sixth person is still unaccounted for, and one male is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Met Police Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson expressed condolences, acknowledging the impact on the community and assuring ongoing efforts to determine the cause. The investigation remains open-minded, with no ruling out of possibilities, including fireworks.

The police were alerted at around 22:30 local time on Sunday to the fire in Channel Close, Hounslow. Five victims were found inside the residence, and nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution. The cause of the fire is under investigation, with no arrests made at this early stage.

Dileep Singh, a relative from Manchester, shared his desperation for information, revealing that his brother-in-law, along with his wife, three children, and two adult guests, was involved. The family had recently moved to the London house from Belgium.

As the community mourns this devastating loss, authorities work diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
