Hyderabad: In a distressing turn of events, a customer lost his life following a heated altercation with hotel staff over a Biryani order at a hotel in Punjagutta. The victim, identified as Liyaqath (30) and a resident of Chandrayangutta, had visited the Meridian Hotel in Punjagutta late on a Sunday night, accompanied by a few acquaintances, to enjoy a meal.
However, what should have been a routine dining experience took a grim turn when a disagreement erupted between Liyaqath and the hotel workers during their Biryani consumption. This dispute escalated, prompting other members of the hotel staff to get involved. Eventually, the situation escalated into a physical altercation.
Allegedly, matters took a dire turn when the hotel staff closed the establishment’s shutters and unleashed a brutal attack on Liyaqath and his companion. Despite efforts to rescue him from the scene, Liyaqath sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police swiftly arrived at the hospital and proceeded to transfer the victim’s body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for a thorough postmortem examination.
A case has been registered in connection with this tragic incident.
