Chaos and Devastation Unleashed: Eyewitnesses Capture Horror on Social Media
In a devastating incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a blast at an illegal firecracker factory in Harda, Madhya Pradesh, has resulted in the loss of six lives and left at least 40 individuals injured. The blast, which occurred on Tuesday morning, has also led to the gutting of 60 houses in the Bairagarh locality, prompting the evacuation of over a hundred households.
The blast unleashed chaos and devastation, enveloping the city in thick black smoke and causing widespread panic among residents. Eyewitnesses described a scene of horror as nearby houses were engulfed in flames, and the sound of explosions echoed throughout the area. According to officials, the explosion also affected over three dozen commuters in the vicinity.
Harda’s civil surgeon, Dr. Manish Sharma, warned that the casualty count could rise as rescue efforts continue. Harda’s Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Kanchan, described the explosion as massive, highlighting the urgency of the situation. Fire brigade vehicles were swiftly dispatched to the scene, with ambulances and fire engines called in from neighboring districts to assist in the rescue operation.
Initial reports suggest that around 100 laborers were present at the factory at the time of the blast. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, has convened an emergency meeting to address the incident’s aftermath. He has directed key officials, including Minister Uday Pratap Singh and additional chief secretary Ajit Kesari, to assess the situation on the ground. Additionally, medical facilities in Bhopal and Indore, along with the burn unit at AIIMS Bhopal, have been put on high alert to handle the influx of casualties.
In a coordinated response, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are en route to the site to assist in rescue and relief operations.
