HYDERABAD : Telangana Governor, Dr. Tamilisai Sounderrajan, delivered her first address of the third legislative session in the state Assembly on Friday, asserting that the state has broken free from the autocratic rule and dictatorial tendencies of the former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government.

In her impassioned speech, the Governor emphasized that the newly formed Congress government is committed to delivering justice to those who have experienced discrimination and oppression. She sharply criticized the previous government for undermining democratic institutions and organizations to serve individual interests.

Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Sounderrajan expressed her concerns about the state of institutions in the last 9.5 years during a recent address to the Assembly. She underscored the importance of moving away from individual-centric approaches in a democratic setup and criticized the past government for propagandist efforts rather than substantial progress.

The Governor outlined the government’s dedication to village-centric development and disclosed plans to fill teacher vacancies through a mega DSC within six months. Initiatives are also underway to clean up the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and address the significant 2 lakh job vacancies within a year.

Addressing transparency concerns, the Governor pledged to release white papers detailing the financial condition of each department. Dr. Sounderrajan lamented the unfulfilled potential of the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project, envisioned in 2013, and its transformative impact on Hyderabad’s topography.

Commending the electorate’s collective wisdom in the recent elections, the Governor acknowledged the state’s liberation from a decade of repression, marking the onset of an era characterized by civil rights and democratic governance.

In conclusion, Dr. Sounderrajan expressed pride in dismantling barriers between rulers and the people, heralding the commencement of genuine people’s governance. She reiterated appreciation for the people’s collective wisdom and their resolute stance against repression.
