“Revanth Reddy’s Bold Defense and Counterattack Amidst Political Sparring”

In a fiery exchange of words, Telangana Congress President A. Revanth Reddy has firmly dismissed the recent criticism from BRS Ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao regarding the Congress party’s six guarantees. Reddy has not only defended these guarantees but has also dared the ministers to engage in a public debate.

Reddy questioned the logic behind the ministers’ argument that the guarantees should be implemented in all Congress-ruled states before Telangana. He emphasized that the requirements and assurances can vary significantly from state to state. He reminded that even in 2004, when Congress introduced landmark initiatives in combined Andhra Pradesh, such as free power for farmers, Arogyasri, and Fee Reimbursement schemes, these were not replicated in other Congress-ruled states.

During a press conference attended by senior leaders Madhu Yaskhi Goud and Anjan Kumar Yadav, Reddy stated, “The ministers’ argument regarding the implementation of guarantees only exposes their political shallowness. The people are aware that when Congress makes promises, it fulfills them.”

Revanth Reddy further took on the claims made by the BRS ministers about their party’s contributions to the state. He offered to compare their party’s manifestos from 2014 and 2018 with their actual achievements, asserting, “We implemented several schemes when state revenues were significantly lower, and the BRS couldn’t sustain schemes like Fee Reimbursement or Arogyasri. No one will believe if the BRS introduces new schemes.”

Reddy expressed bewilderment at the BRS party’s concerns about Congress promoting multiple leaders and providing opportunities to marginalized sections. He questioned, “Why is the BRS worried about strong leaders within Congress and everyone having political opportunities? We are not a dynastic party like the BRS, where only KCR, KTR, or someone from his family leads the party indefinitely.”

Additionally, Revanth Reddy labeled Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to Telangana as a “BRS promotion tour.” He alleged that the Prime Minister’s visit aimed to divide anti-incumbency voters and assist the BRS in the upcoming elections. Reddy pointed out that the Prime Minister did not provide assurance of national status for the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) nor made any new announcements. He dismissed the Prime Minister’s reaffirmation of commitments like the Tribal University and Turmeric Board as old assurances.

Reddy also raised questions about Prime Minister Modi’s silence on Chief Minister KCR’s alleged corruption, despite making such allegations in the past. He suggested that this silence indicated a close relationship between the two parties and their leadership.
