“Bridging Law and Order: SUCL Alumnus Commissioner K Srinivasa Reddy’s Inspirational Journey from Law Student to IPS Officer”

Hyderabad : — The Sultan Ul Uloom College of Law, recently wrapped up its two-day ‘Amjad Ali Khan Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2023,’ themed around a criminal case. Moot courts, known for providing a real courtroom experience, served as a platform for twenty-eight (28) teams from various states in India. Distinguished personalities from the legal field presided as judges, evaluating the participants’ performances.
The prestigious first prize was clinched by the School of Excellence, Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, while the runners-up position went to ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad. Outstanding individual performances were also recognized, with Chakila Varun Raj from ICFAI Law School awarded Best Mooter Male, and S Ruchita from K.V. Ranga Reddy Law College, Hyderabad, honored as Best Mooter Female. The title of Best Memorial Team was secured by Saveeta School of Law, Chennai.
Dr. K.Ch Venkateshwari, the Principal of SUCL, delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for an eventful conclusion. The valedictory function featured a keynote address by Justice Shri Lakshmi Narayana Alishetty , Judge, High Court of Judicature for the State of Telangana. The esteemed Judge commended the participants, discussing diverse career opportunities for law students. He underscored the role of the judiciary as a fundamental pillar of democracy and emphasized lawyers’ responsibility in addressing societal challenges.

Guest of Honor K Srinivasa Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, an alumnus of SUCL, shared insights into the importance of legal knowledge in his professional journey as an IPS officer. He encouraged students to pursue ethical practices in the legal profession and highlighted the significance of continuous learning.
Mr. Zafar Javeed, Honorary Secretary of Sultan Ul Uloom Education Society, spoke eloquently about the practical skills honed through moot courts and their relevance in the legal profession. He emphasized the need for students to enhance their persuasive skills, crucial in the dynamic legal landscape.
The event provided a unique platform for students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering a deeper understanding of legal proceedings and societal responsibilities.
Mr. Valiullah (Chairman), Dr. Mir Akbar Ali Khan (Treasurer), Mr. Masood Abdul Khadar (Joint Secretary), Mr. Ibrahim Ali Siddique, and Mr. Aamer Javeed (Members) of Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society, along with the Principals from constituent colleges, were also present to witness and celebrate the successful culmination of this prestigious competition.
