Srinagar, August 27, 2023 — Congress’ former chief, Sonia Gandhi, along with her son Rahul Gandhi, embarked on a private journey to Jammu and Kashmir’s picturesque Srinagar city. Having spent the night at the serene ‘Daar-al-Salaam’ hotel situated along the tranquil Nigeen Lake, the Gandhis are set to enrich their itinerary with a visit to the renowned Mughal gardens near the iconic Dal Lake.
Sources within the Congress party revealed that the family’s initial plan of visiting the Gulmarg ski resort has undergone a change. Instead, they have opted to explore the captivating Mughal gardens, a testament to the region’s rich history and architectural grandeur.
Rahul Gandhi, who had concluded his extensive week-long tour of the Ladakh region, arrived in Srinagar on Friday. Subsequently, his mother Sonia Gandhi joined him on Saturday, marking a significant juncture in their private expedition to the Valley.
