Hyderabad, Jan 3, 2024: -In a recent directive from the director of school education, it has been confirmed that schools throughout Telangana will undergo a six-day closure in January, observing the Sankranti holidays. Notably, missionary schools will not be partaking in this break.

The academic calendar, as outlined by the director of school education, explicitly states that the Sankranti vacation is applicable to all educational institutions except missionary schools. The designated Sankranti holidays for schools, according to the government’s directive, are scheduled from January 12 to 17.

Following the Sankranti break, schools will be gearing up for formative assessment 4.

The academic calendar further delineates that the summer vacation for schools is slated to occur from April 24 to June 11, 2024.

In addition, the state government has officially declared Sankranti and Bhogi holidays not only for schools in Hyderabad and other Telangana districts but also as part of the general holidays list.

Furthermore, two more holidays have been incorporated into the academic calendar – January 25 is marked as an optional holiday for Hazrath Ali’s birthday, and January 26 is designated as a general holiday for Republic Day.

On January 26, schools in Hyderabad and various districts of Telangana will commence the day by hoisting the Indian flag in the morning, followed by the observance of a holiday for Republic Day celebrations.
