Hyderabad, Telangana: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A. Revanth Reddy achieved a significant triumph in the Kodangal Assembly constituency during the latest election results on Sunday.

Defeating the incumbent MLA, Patnam Narender Reddy of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Revanth Reddy secured an impressive victory with a substantial margin of 32,800 votes.

This outcome marks a remarkable turnaround for the Congress leader, who faced defeat in Kodangal in 2018 by a margin of 9,319 votes against Narender Reddy.

Known as a strong contender for the chief minister’s position, Revanth Reddy is also leading in Kamareddy against Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Following his defeat in the 2018 Assembly elections, Reddy contested and won the Lok Sabha polls in 2019, representing the Malkajgiri constituency. Subsequently, he was appointed as the TPCC president in 2021.
