The Rachakonda Police achieved a major milestone by recovering 591 stolen or lost mobile phones worth an estimated ₹2 crore within just 25 days. This operation comes in response to the growing number of mobile thefts and losses, prompting the police to implement advanced methods for tracing and retrieving stolen devices.

Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, special teams were mobilized to conduct the recovery operations. These teams were formed by combining resources from the CCS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) units at LB Nagar, Malkajgiri, and Bhongir, working in close collaboration with the Rachakonda IT Cell. A key tool in the investigation was the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, which allowed police teams to trace stolen phones using their IMEI numbers.

The coordinated effort paid off, with the following results:

  • LB Nagar CCS: 339 phones recovered
  • Malkajgiri CCS: 149 phones recovered
  • Bhongir CCS: 103 phones recovered

This latest recovery operation brings the total number of stolen mobile phones retrieved by the Rachakonda Police to 3,213 this year, placing the Rachakonda region as the second-highest in mobile phone recoveries in the state, behind only Hyderabad.

A special event was held to return the recovered phones to their rightful owners, presided over by Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu. The recipients expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the police for their relentless efforts in retrieving their valuable devices. The Commissioner took the opportunity to commend the outstanding work of the special teams and their leaders, including DCP Crimes V. Aravind Babu and ADCP Crimes M. Srinivasulu, who played crucial roles in coordinating the successful recovery effort.

Nodal Officer ADCP Crimes M. Srinivasulu oversaw the operation, ensuring that each CCS unit worked effectively to achieve the impressive recovery rate. The dedicated officers involved in the operation included:

  • LB Nagar Team: K. Narender (SIP), Y. Mallikarjun (PC 10520), J. Jawahar Lal (PC 10934)
