New Delhi, April 12, 2024 – OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, has updated its AI chatbot, ChatGPT, to provide more concise responses, the company announced on a social media platform. The new GPT-4 Turbo model is now accessible to paid ChatGPT users.

The company stated that the new model offers improved capabilities in writing, math, logical reasoning, and coding. It has been trained on publicly available data up to December last year.

“When writing with ChatGPT, responses will be more direct, less verbose, and use more conversational language,” OpenAI posted, highlighting the changes.

OpenAI emphasized its commitment to enhancing its AI models and expressed excitement to see how users will utilize the new features. The GPT-4 Turbo is available in ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and the API.

Meanwhile, OpenAI reportedly transcribed over a million hours of YouTube videos to train GPT-4, according to a recent report by The New York Times. The company acknowledged that this practice may not be legal but believed it to be fair use.

An OpenAI spokesperson stated that the company uses various sources, including publicly available data and partnerships for non-public data, to maintain its global research competitiveness.
