New Delhi : -In a heartwarming viral video, a stray dog is winning the hearts of netizens as it runs alongside a moving train on a platform, seemingly attempting to interact with passengers on the footboard. Ananth Rupanagudi, an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the video, praising the canine’s efforts in promoting safety.

In his tweet, Rupanagudi expressed, “The best assistance rendered in a drive against footboard traveling.” The video, posted a few days ago, has garnered over 1.56 lakh views and numerous comments. Many users are suggesting that the Indian Railways consider hiring the dog to discourage commuters from risking their lives by traveling on the footboard, a common occurrence in India due to overcrowding.

One amazed user commented, “Is this for REAL!! Initially thought the dog was looking for a space in the compartment.” Another suggested, “RPF could consider engaging one of their duty dogs. Imagine a Doberman or a Belgian Malinois doing this.” Calls for the dog’s recruitment extend beyond social media, with users proposing that the canine and its companions be stationed at Mumbai stations to assist in preventing people from getting on or off moving trains.

Expressing concern for commuter safety, a user suggested, “Seriously, he should be given an appointment in Railways. Many western countries have done so in their orgs. Let this be 1st in India.” The online campaign highlights the potential of this four-legged guardian to contribute to railway safety, resonating with the public’s desire for innovative solutions to address common challenges.
