
Ujjain, 11th December 2023: In a decisive move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially declared three-time Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav as the upcoming 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The announcement, ending weeks of speculation, also revealed Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla as the Deputy Chief Ministers.
Expressing gratitude, the newly appointed Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, humbly stated, “I am a small worker of the party. I thank all of you, the state leadership, and the central leadership. With your love and support, I will try to fulfill my responsibilities.”
Union Minister Narendra Tomar is slated to take on the role of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker.
Mohan Yadav, a seasoned politician, previously served as a cabinet minister in the Madhya Pradesh Government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He first became MLA in 2013 from Ujjain Dakshin’s seat and secured re-election in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections.
His extensive political journey includes taking the oath as a cabinet minister on July 2, 2020, in the Madhya Pradesh Government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The pivotal decision was reached during a legislature party meeting in Bhopal, attended by the 163 newly elected BJP MLAs along with the party’s three central observers.
The recent elections in Madhya Pradesh, held on November 17, 2023, witnessed an impressive 77.15 per cent voter turnout, culminating in a historic victory for the BJP in the state.
