
Hyderabad | June 3, 2025: In a moment that reflects the spirit of discipline, dedication, and leadership, Mohammed Abubakar, a 2022 Civil Engineering graduate from Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET), Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, has officially joined the Indian Navy as a Sub Lieutenant.
Abubakar cleared the Services Selection Board (SSB) and completed the rigorous naval training at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala. His Passing Out Parade, held on May 31, 2025, marked his induction into the Indian Armed Forces as a commissioned officer.
Known for his well-rounded personality and leadership traits, Abubakar’s time at MJCET was not limited to academics. He took on multiple roles, serving as both the Sports Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Department and the Athletics Coordinator of the college. His athletic achievements include representing MJCET and Telangana State at the 7-A-Side National Football Tournament in Nainital, and also at the Indo-Nepal International 7-A-Side Football Tournament.

In his statement, Abubakar acknowledged the college’s instrumental role in shaping his journey.

A very special thanks to our Physical Director, Mr. Mohammed Yousufuddin, whose mentorship helped instill Officer-Like Qualities that guided me toward the Indian Navy.”
In recent months, over 25 students from MJCET have entered prestigious roles across defense, civil services, and public sector undertakings, showcasing the institution’s growing footprint in national development.
Mr. Zafar Javeed, Honorary Secretary of the Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society, extended warm congratulations to Sub Lieutenant Abubakar, stating that his achievement is a proud moment for the college and a source of inspiration for future generations.
