New Delhi : In a dramatic turn of events, Ashneer Grover, co-founder of BharatPe, and his wife Madhuri Jain were reportedly halted at Delhi International Airport on Thursday. The couple, scheduled to travel to New York, found themselves stopped by airport authorities, citing a lookout circular issued by the Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the Delhi Police.

Grover, taking to the social media platform X, shared his side of the story amidst the unfolding situation. He revealed that no communication or summon from EoW had been received since the FIR in May until 8 AM that morning. Grover emphasized his plan to travel to the U.S. from November 16 to 23 and expressed surprise at being stopped, considering he had traveled internationally four times since the FIR without issue.

“At immigration, they said LoC laga hua hai sir – EOW se check kar ke batate hai,” Grover wrote, detailing the encounter. Despite the confusion, the flight left in the meantime, and EoW officials directed Immigration to allow them to return home. Grover affirmed his commitment to cooperate with the EoW, stating, “No drama. LOC hatane ka process hai – I am not a flight risk – easy to prove hai.”

The Economic Offences Wing initiated an investigation in May following an FIR filed against Ashneer Grover, his wife Madhuri, and other family members. The alleged fraud, totaling Rs 81 crore, has been a subject of scrutiny. The latest airport incident adds another layer to the unfolding saga, with Grover maintaining transparency through social media amid mounting legal complexities.
