Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing them of a history marked by “fraud, deceit, and treachery” during their half-century rule. In a social media message posted on platform X, the Telangana minister asserted that “intelligent Telangana will not believe the lies and fictitious guarantees” put forth by Congress.

He went on to make a satirical reference to the “tricolour chameleon” (Congress flag), suggesting that if one were to believe in it, the removal of free power to farmers would be guaranteed.

The Congress recently unveiled six guarantees ahead of the upcoming Telangana assembly polls. These include promises such as Rs 2,500 per month for women, gas cylinders at Rs 500, and 200 units of free electricity for all households should the party assume power in the state.

Rama Rao continued his critique poetically in Telugu, stating that if the “rule of vultures” were to return, the abolition of Rythu Bandhu (a farmer investment support scheme) would be certain. Similarly, he warned that if the “regime of kalakeyas” (demons) took over, power cuts and darkness in the state would follow. In a mocking tone, he added that if the “puppets of Delhi” came to power, it would guarantee the compromise of Telangana’s self-esteem.
