Buckingham Palace announced today that Britain’s King Charles, 75, has been diagnosed with a form of cancer. The diagnosis comes after a recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, during which a separate issue was identified.

In a statement, the palace revealed that King Charles has begun a schedule of regular treatments, leading doctors to advise him to temporarily postpone public-facing duties. Despite this, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.

Expressing gratitude for the swift medical intervention, the King remains positive about his treatment and is eager to return to full public duty at the earliest opportunity. The decision to disclose the diagnosis was made to prevent speculation and to contribute to public understanding of cancer.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended his wishes for a speedy recovery, stating, “Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time, and I know the whole country will be wishing him well.”
