In a devastating incident near Chikkaballapur, thirteen lives were tragically cut short and another individual sustained severe injuries when an SUV collided with a stationary tanker on Thursday morning. The accident occurred just outside Chikkaballapur, the town hosting the district headquarters.

The victims, which included four women, were all occupants of the SUV traveling from Bagepalli to Chikkaballapur. According to eyewitnesses, the collision with the stationary tanker resulted in the immediate loss of thirteen lives. Reports indicate that one person, critically injured in the accident, is currently undergoing treatment in a local hospital.

Details suggest that the ill-fated vehicle was en route from Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh to Bengaluru when the collision occurred on NH 44.

Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police, D L Nagesh, revealed, “Twelve people tragically lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Additionally, one critically injured individual, initially receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, succumbed to their injuries. All the victims were traveling in the vehicle from Anantapur to Bengaluru, and tragically, their journey was cut short when the vehicle collided with the stationary tanker.”

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims had originated their journey in Andhra Pradesh, marking this incident as a heart-wrenching tragedy that has left the community in shock and mourning. Authorities are working diligently to understand the full scope of the accident and provide support to the affected families during this difficult time.
