Chandigarh, June 6: Bollywood actor and BJP MP-elect from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, has accused a CISF security official of slapping her at Chandigarh Airport while she was en route to Delhi.

Ranaut claimed that Kulwinder Kaur, a CISF woman official, assaulted her after an argument at the security check area. According to sources, the alleged provocation was Ranaut’s controversial comments about women in Punjab during the farmers’ agitation.

In a video message posted on X, Ranaut stated, “I am safe, I am perfectly fine. The slapping incident happened during the security check. After completing the security check, the woman officer hit me and started abusing me, claiming she supports the farmers.”

Following the incident, CISF officials suspended Kulwinder Kaur and filed an FIR against her. A probe panel has been established to investigate the matter. A video purportedly from the airport shows Kaur saying, “My mother was also among the protesters when she [Kangana] made these remarks.”

Upon arriving in Delhi, Ranaut met CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials to discuss the incident.

In response to the news, a user on X highlighted the perceived hypocrisy in reactions to the incident. Sharing a video of Kanhaiya Kumar being slapped, the user wrote, “Hypocrisy 🤡 Those who celebrated the slapping of Kanhaiya Kumar are condemning the slapping of Kangana Ranaut today 😅 {Hypocrisy ka bhi seema hoti hai } Hypocrisy has its limits.”
