Mumbai : Renowned actor Junior Mehmood, born as Naeem Sayyed, has succumbed to stage four stomach cancer at the age of 67. The sad news was confirmed by his close friend Salam Kazi, as reported by ETimes.

Having made a significant mark in the film industry, Junior Mehmood’s notable contributions include memorable roles in films such as “Caravan,” “Haathi Mere Saathi,” and “Mera Naam Joker.” His journey in the world of cinema began as a child artiste with films like “Mohabbat Zindagi Hai” (1966) and “Naunihal” (1967). The moniker “Junior Mehmood” was bestowed upon him by the legendary Mehmood himself, following their collaboration in the 1968 film “Suhaag Raat.”

Prominent figures from the film fraternity paid their last respects to the late veteran actor in Mumbai on Friday. Johnny Lever, Rakesh Bedi, Sudesh Bhosale, Aditya Pancholi, Avtar Gill, and Raza Murad were among those who came together to honor Junior Mehmood’s memory.

The solemn occasion saw the celebrities sharing moments with the late actor’s family members. In a heartfelt video, Johnny Lever, Aditya Pancholi, and Rakesh Bedi were seen sitting together, holding a photograph of the departed actor. The emotional gathering also captured Johnny Lever sharing a warm hug with one of Junior Mehmood’s family members.
