In a significant development, H.D. Revanna, a MLA representing JD(S), was apprehended by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday. The arrest came after the People’s Representative Court rejected his plea for relief, following allegations in a kidnap case from K R Nagar, Mysuru district. Revanna, who is accused number one in the case, was taken into custody from the residence of his father, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda.

The victim, purportedly kidnapped on April 29, was located at a farmhouse in Hunsur, Mysuru district, and subsequently escorted to Bengaluru by SIT officials. While Revanna’s anticipatory bail plea was under consideration, the Court’s refusal for interim relief facilitated his arrest, scheduled for May 6.

This development coincided with the SIT’s disclosure to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of their intent to engage the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in locating JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who remains at large amidst allegations of sexual assault.

The investigation also revealed that the SIT conducted a mahazar at H.D. Revanna’s residence in Holenarispur, Hassan district, where multiple videos were allegedly recorded by the MP involving victims. Accompanying the SIT officials were the victim and her mother, who had lodged a complaint against both Prajwal Revanna and H.D. Revanna.

Further intensifying the inquiry, the SIT issued a notice to Bhavani Revanna, H.D. Revanna’s wife, mandating her appearance for questioning as and when necessary.
