New Delhi : Jamia Hamdard University commemorated its 14th Convocation, a momentous occasion where over 7,900 students who graduated between 2019 and 2022 were celebrated for their academic achievements. The event was graced by the presence of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, who emphasized the significance of Hindi and Urdu languages and urged the graduates to actively participate in the nation-building process.
One noteworthy aspect of the convocation was the remarkable performance of female students, as they outnumbered their male counterparts among the gold medal recipients. This achievement underscored the university’s commitment to promoting women’s education and empowerment.
During the convocation, three distinguished individuals were honored with Honorary Degrees in recognition of their exceptional contributions to various fields, including sports, public finance, and philanthropy.
Notably, the cricketing legend and former Member of Parliament from Muradabad, Mohammed Azharuddin, was among the recipients of an Honorary Doctorate from Jamia Hamdard University. In response to this esteemed recognition, Dr. Azharuddin took to his Facebook page, sharing his sentiments:
“I am truly honored and humbled to accept this honorary doctorate degree (Honoris Causa) conferred on me by Jamia Hamdard University. I am really touched by the overwhelming reception extended to me.
I value it as a sign of acknowledgment and regard of the people for my work and dedication towards cricket and for my country.”
The convocation ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by an opportunity for the graduating students to interact with their teachers, marking a memorable conclusion to this prestigious event.
