Just days after the successful soft landing of the Pragyan rover on the moon’s south pole, ISRO has officially confirmed the launch date for its highly anticipated sun mission, Aditya-L1. The Indian Space Research Organisation will deploy the PSLV-C57 rocket for this historic endeavor on September 2.

Aditya-L1 marks India’s inaugural venture into space-based solar observation. The mission is set to commence at 11:50 AM IST on September 2, 2023, launching from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.

Enthusiasts keen on witnessing this event can register on ISRO’s official website for the opportunity to view the PSLV-C57 rocket launch from the Launch View Gallery at Sriharikota. ISRO’s Aditya-L1 mission will journey an impressive 1.4 million kilometers away from Earth, a distance four times greater than that to the moon. The spacecraft will initially be placed in a low earth orbit before being propelled towards the Lagrange point (L1) through onboard propulsion, heralding a new chapter in solar exploration.
