In a noble gesture of solidarity and compassion, India has taken significant steps to extend a helping hand to the people of Palestine by dispatching approximately 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material. The dispatch, confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), underscores India’s unwavering commitment to assisting the Palestinian people during challenging times.

The humanitarian assistance, comprising essential medical supplies and disaster relief materials, is aimed at addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by the people of Palestine. This act of goodwill reflects India’s dedication to fostering global collaboration and aiding those in need.

The Indian Air Force played a pivotal role in this mission, utilizing a C-17 transport aircraft to transport the crucial consignments. The humanitarian aid is being conveyed to El-Arish airport in Egypt via the aircraft.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, in a statement, highlighted the significance of this initiative. He said, “India sends Humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. An IAF C-17 flight carrying nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material for the people of Palestine departs for El-Arish airport in Egypt.”

He went on to explain that the aid package includes a wide range of essential supplies, such as life-saving medicines, surgical items, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets, among other necessary items. This substantial support underscores India’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and the well-being of people in need, sending a message of hope and solidarity during these challenging times.
