In a significant development, Israel has agreed to implement daily four-hour humanitarian pauses in its operations in northern Gaza, marking the first scheduled cessation of hostilities in the month-long conflict. These pauses are intended to enable civilians to safely evacuate the area through two designated humanitarian corridors. White House national security spokesperson John Kirby made this announcement, emphasizing that the pauses will be announced three hours in advance.

The Biden administration has confirmed that Israel has committed to these four-hour daily humanitarian pauses as part of its ongoing assault on Hamas in northern Gaza. This decision followed a request from President Joe Biden to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a call on Monday.

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby specified that the initial humanitarian pause will be announced on Thursday, and Israel has undertaken to provide a minimum three-hour notice for each subsequent four-hour window.
